| The Story behind this point goes like this....I have a monthly gathering of flintknapping friends, and at one of these gatherings, my good friend Bruce Boda brought this huge piece of really rough grade Esopus for me since I like to do big points. Was this a test? I don't know, but I grunted and groaned my way through that piece of stone untill I found the below Genesee point hiding in the middle of it. To date, it's the largest point I've ever made at a hair over 8 inches long. It's not the best flaking job, but this material was not much better than slate due to it's poor quality. I thought, considering the material, that I did a fine job with this one and hope you enjoy it as much as I have. It went straight into my personal keeper case. Many thanks to Bruce Boda for giving me a hernia and this stone! |
